The Fox in the Forest is a two-player trick-taking game from Foxtrot Games and Renegade Games Studios, with designer Joshua Buergel. Fox Forest is a forest located in Riverdale, Sweetwater River running through it under the Sweetwater Bridge. Its people were most distraught, because the fairies of the woods had kidnapped the most famous musician whose music made everything better.

It’s really quite a puzzle and seasoned trick-taking players will take a while to get their heads around this idea.Arboretum is a 2-4 player game that plays well at all player counts, and is one of the best card games I've ever played. The rules consist of one two sided folded sheet that is very clear and easy to read with lots of examples using actual game components. We wrap up with a week in review that includes some birthday gaming and me getting three games off the pile of shame. If you end up going off the end of the track you are considered to have gotten lost in the woods and must add a woods token to the board. More importantly, my wife, who usually does not like cooperative play, really enjoyed this game as well.

We easily beat the game the first time we played it, so we thought it was going to be too easy, but ever since then it has been a fun way for us to get defeated.Overjoyed, they played an enchanting lullaby that made the fairies go to sleep and allowed us to escape. Even though I don’t think this one belongs on my two-player date night game list, I still strongly recommend The Fox in the Forest Duet for anyone who’s into playing two-player games.

Generally, the more tricks you get, the more points you earn, but The Fox has one last sneaky ace up its sleeve; if you grab ten or more tricks in a round, you’ve essentially “busted” and get zero points for the round. I’m sure you could finish a game in less than 30 minutes once you’re more familiar with the cards and just keep playing trick after trick.
