Let's be honest, at some stage we all reach the point where we are so frustrated that we just want to give up on everything. It’s the iconic motivational poster: an adorable kitten dangling precariously from a bar, or branch, or clothesline, with the words “Hang in there, baby” scrawled across the top.
The poster struck a chord with 1970s Americans, and it became one of the best-selling posters of the era. They printed the constructive organization posters in a larger format, renaming them “action posters. There were several versions of the "Hang in There, Baby" poster, featuring a picture of a cat or kitten, hanging onto a stick, tree branch, pole or rope. Hang In There, Baby refers to a motivational poster of a cat hanging on to a bar captioned "Hang in there, baby. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.It appeared in the Simpsons episode "The Twisted World of Marge Simpson," where Marge commented, "'Hang in there, baby! But the thought behind them carried forward into World War II, with propaganda-based political posters again becoming the motivational posters of the time.

During the 70s, dozens of imitators, bootlegs, and variations appeared with different cats and different texts, but the general idea of a cat hanging to a branch with text saying "hang in there" grew into a popular trend. For Halloween this year I was thinking about famous works of art like Rene Magritte’s Son of Man or more popular works like the “Hang in There, Baby! You can find all kinds of great work where photographs look like paintings, and sticking my head through some great art sounded fun.
Baldwin hung a copy of the poster in his studio window in 1972, which resulted in more interest in the image.
