As you visualise your target, before you even pick up a bow, the calculations have already been starting in your head. When it comes to issues with eye dominance, they can be easily fixed nine times out of 10 at a shooting ground. To check if it is in the right position, close the master eye and ensure the patch is obscuring the bead at the end of barrel as shown in the main image. There are so many archers who don’t know what eye is dominant, and don’t know it’s better to shoot with both eyes open. There are also companies such as Off-Eye which supply filters for different kinds of glasses to use the ability of the brain to filter the target; using different stickers you can decide which strength of filter you need to use to block out enough of the target, by shifting a little or a lot of strength to the weaker aiming eye.I am unable to close my right eye with out the left being closed and when I open the left the right also opens , no more facial nerve on rh side . Often people with left eye dominance are that way because their right eye has vision issues, or no vision at all. The black and yellow performed better than the smoke grey and clear, I don’t really know why but they were better. Difficulties arise however, when you have a left-dominant eye but shoot right-handed or vice-versa, referred to as cross-dominance. I have always been aware of this fact, but I became fully aware of it when I started to work as a photographer: all camera’s are easier to use for right eye preference.

Apart from being fully adjustable, the most amazing thing for me is just how clear my vision is when I’m using it. Absolute dominance in the eye looking down the rib – keep both eyes open and focus locked on the bird, the bird and nothing but the bird. Now unlucky archers who prefer to shoot right-handed and who are left-eye dominant (or vice versa) do not have this option.

It usually takes a few goes to get the placement right, but once the spot is in place, it will quite effectively stop your dominant eye from taking over.
